‘Wild Boar with molasses, white beans, brown sugar ‘Wild Boar with molasses, white beans, brown sugar & mustard’
One of our favourite recipes from Gill Meller. It’s a real winter warmer and although we don’t really need an excuse to cook this, the dropping temperatures make it a real winner right now.
It’s perfect made with our rare breed, organic pork. The flavour is deep and delicious through our slow rearing, outdoors.
Why not order your pork now and give it a try. You will find a price list on our website (link in comments) or you can send us a message from here.

We’re making live apple cider vinegar (ACV) today. We’re making live apple cider vinegar (ACV) today. To be honest, we’ve never had great success with our first apple trees (something to do with our Hebridean sheep ringing the young tree bark years ago) but slowly we have replaced the trees and they are doing much better. The small crop we have from our old trees are all heritage varieties and they make lovely raw cider vinegar with the ‘mother’. It’s a useful thing to do with them as we use it a lot in cooking and often put a splash in the hens’ water to help with their digestive health. Still, it’s lovely to pick and eat one straight from the tree while on a walk.

We’re loving listening to this podcast this mornin We’re loving listening to this podcast this morning. There are so many familiar moments for us and cattle chat that makes us really want cows! I’m busy writing my talk for @scottish_smallholder_festival so I’m tracing our journey into small-scale farming. Like @nikkiyoxall our regenerative story really begins with meeting Rob Havard @phepsonangus in 2018 at a @soilassociation event called ‘Buzzing about Grassland’ and they both get creditable mentions in our journey. This, like lots of Rob’s podcasts @calltotheland is well worth a listen.
