We are thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new website!
After a year of development and watching hundreds of 'how to...' videos on YouTube, it is finally launched. The exciting new features are:
- you can now book your stay at the B&B and pay your deposit online in one easy transaction
- we have a great new online shop where you can buy courses, gift vouchers, soap etc.
For those who are interested in a little bit of technological history, I created my first website in 2011 using an Apple website creation tool called iWeb. It was discontinued in June of that year and I often wonder why as it was a great little programme. A colleague built a new site in 2012, which we revamped in 2016.
Then in 2023 - disaster, WordPress discontinued the theme the old website was based on, so it was definitely time to take the plunge and to create a completely new site. Credit must go to the lovely Clare of Merry & Bright who encouraged me to be bold and to create the new site myself and has offered 'website triage' at various points. The biggest thanks goes to my pal David Key, who has patiently guided me through the process and remotely 'taken over' my site when I've been stuck. The late night zoom sessions to Whangārei, New Zealand have been fun and invaluable...and served to completely blow my mind about the wonders of technology. To think that when I started my working life no-one even had a mobile phone!
Needless to say, it is full of the kind of great images you have come to expect from the website. There's lots to explore and we hope you enjoy having a good look around. We welcome all feedback.
