Cultivating Daxis

Hilde is peeping from behind a cloche in the kitchen garden. If only you you propagate daxis like this!

It has been such a cold start to the growing year that Colin was beginning to despair as all of the seeds he had sown were failing to germinate. So we gave in and bought some plug plants from the excellent organic nursery Delfland www.organicplants.co.uk . No sooner had we taken delivery of the plants than the weather warmed up and all the seeds began to germinate!! The other day Colin potted on 45 savoy cabbages!

The recent weather, warmth followed by rain has been a real boost to the new outdoor area in the kitchen garden and the brassicas, potatoes and courgettes are all doing well.
