The Lint Mill is perfect for a range of activities.  You are most welcome to wander around the smallholding and its delightful riverside location makes the ideal picnic spot easy to find, we will even provide a picnic blanket!

If you enjoy fishing, the North Medwyn contains trout and grayling and you are welcome to fish anywhere along the river on the smallholding (we can provide rods). Trout fishing is also available on the Upper Clyde and several nearby lochs and reservoirs, with salmon fishing on the Upper River Tweed.

Bird watchers and nature lovers may glimpse the blue flash of the kingfisher along the river and if you’re lucky, you may see an otter or two.  Binoculars are available for your use as well as numerous wildlife books for your reference.

The area is very popular for equestrian activities and horse riding is available locally.

Scotland is the home of golf and this area boasts several excellent courses. There is a local golf course at Carnwath, just 2 miles away, Lanark, one of the oldest clubs in Scotland, is 7 miles away and is renowned for the natural moorland fairways, fast greens and is a genuine contender to be one of Scottish golf’s real hidden gems.  Just an hour’s drive away is the championship course at Muirfield, Edinburgh.

South Lanarkshire offers some beautiful terrain for walkers. There are woodland, riverside and farmland walks directly from our door or just 7 miles away you will access the bracing ascent to one of the highest points of South Lanarkshire, the 2320ft summit of Tinto Hill. Here you are rewarded with a fantastic view taking in the upper Clyde valley and stretching, on a clear day, south to the Lake District, west to the Isle of Arran and north to Glasgow. You are welcome to borrow a small rucksack for your walk.

The Lint Mill is ideally located for those wishing to visit the Edinburgh International Festival or the Royal Highland Show.
