Shetland Tups

These are the lovely boys that we are using to tup our Shetland flock in November.  They have great markings.  One is a black smirslet sokket but I’ll have to get my laminated poster of ‘Markings in Shetland Sheep’ out to check the other one!  Here they are in the early evening sun.  Our Shetland flock isn’t registered, so we don’t know much about the genetic make-up of our ewes however, we reckon by using these lovely young tups we will be encouraging some diversity of colour and markings into next year’s lambs.
