Cedric

Welcome Cedric, our new cockerel

On Monday Sidney, our old cream legbar cockerel sadly died.  We rescued him three years ago and he was a mature bird when we got him.  He was a delightful (although very vocal) gentleman and we enjoyed his handsome presence around The Lint Mill.

Serendipitously, that very day, an advert appeared on the Accidental Smallholder* forum from someone who had bred two crested cream legbar cockerels and who wanted to keep one for breeding and wanted to give the other one away to a good home.  Look no further, the ‘good home’ is here!  So we travelled over to near Loch Lomond and collected the new addition to our flock.  We’ve named him Cedric.

I’m sure as he matures he will be a big hit with the ladies!  Wesley, our Welsummer cockerel is a very mild mannered chap and I’m sure he’ll be kind and show Cedric the ropes.
